What about:
In a world where muggles know about wizards, Neville Longbottom and Draco Malfoy are business partner. Unfortunately, both don't know much about business in the muggle world. Luckily, Hermione knows someone who does, and thus the drama evolves. Of course, there are some twists. What else could be there when a certain Slytherin is involved?
Warnings:
Rating R. Some dead people, some stuff with the birds and the bees - but nothing violent or graphic.
What I love about the story:
There are three things I like; the narrative point of view, the nonOC and (rarely for me) the romance.
Let's start with the nonOC. There are many stories around introducing new characters, and often those turn out to be a Mary Sue. Those Characters are very often far fetched, have more power than anyone else and save single-handed the whole world - in short they are way too exaggerated. I can understand it, who doesn't want to be important, but there's only so much you can take, you still have to stay authentic and believable in the fan universe. Anyway, in this fanfic the the nonOC doesn't have any special powers at all, and the introduction into the universe is plausible and well done.
This brings me on to the point of view. Jeez, I like it ;) The nonOC is telling the story and it's fun. Normally, the first person comes across as boastful, but not here. And all the time you can just agree with the observations and the sarcasm. And even more often you think to yourself 'yep, been there, done that.' At least I know now that I'm not the only one.
For the romance - sometimes, when you feel down cos everything is going wrong, you need a little distraction. You can go punching your boss, listening to some destructive music, run around screaming or - cos sometimes all this is just not possible/appropriate - you can read some fluffy stuff to remind you that not all is bad and she'll be alright in the end. This story is for one of those moments. And, hey, who doesn't want a happy ending?
What I don't like:
The rating - omg, if stuff like this is R, please shut down every TV & Radio Station.
Ranking:
Hm, I'm not good in giving points, so let's they this is not on top, but definitely upper third of my scale. If you need a quick cheering up, this is the story for you.
Happy reading! And please don't forget to review the fanfic!
